• The head of Tibbett & Britten's troubled car transporter arm Axial has lost control of its UK operations in a major restructuring of the group's trading divisions.
Florian likralewski, previously chairman of Axial Holdings, continues to run Axial's Continental European operations. where he will remain chairman.
Mike Evans becomes chairman of Axial UK. T&B senior management is preparing to start UK talks with Axial's largest customer, Ford Motor Company, and its 400 staff working on the .E48 million a year contract. Transport analysts believe Axial is losing up to E15m in profit because of problems on the Ford contract.
Meanwhile, Tibbett & Britten chairman and chief executive John Harvey gives up his role as chairman of the group's international arm. The move is thought to be 39-year old Harvey's first steps towards retirement.
