CRANLEIGH Freight Services has almost doubled turnover at its DIID home-delivery arm over the past year, prompting an increase in its fleet size and a relaunch of its website.
The Surrey-based company has updated the site in an attempt to differentiate between DHD and the rest of the firm's activities, which include warehousing and distribution. Group sales and marketing manager Becky Young says: "The DHD product became a lot more prevalent in the past two years and required a site of its own. So although the two websites [DHD and Cranleigh Freight Services] are linked, we have separated the brand."
She adds that DHD delivers mostly to internet shoppers. The service was launched seven years ago after the company worked as a contractor for MF1."It grew from there," explains Young. "It's the fastest-growing product that we have.
"We branded it differently because it's a different service. People don't want to receive any deliveries from a freight company because they have invested time and energy into buying their goods from a specialised service."
