SCOTTISH ENGINEERING firm Highland Quality Construction has gone into receivership with the loss of 80 jobs.
Highland offered haulage services as part of its plant hire division. It held a licence for 60 vehicles and 22 trailers, including tippers and low-loaders, across three operating centres. KPMG was appointed as receiver at the Inverness company on 3 June.
Head of KPMG restructuring in Scotland. Blair Nimmo, tells CM it is now trying to find out why the firm failed, "Effectively we have closed the business and made all bar three [staff] redundant." he adds. "We arc currently trying to investigate the reasons behind the insolvency and the financial outcome for the people involved."
Highland's phone lines are no longer working. A spokesman for Highland Reeyling, a company listed on Highland Quality Construction's website, says it is not affected by the receivership.
