POLLOCK (SCOTRANS) has managed to stay in the black during its latest financial year. posting pre-tax profit of £138,925 on a flat turnover of £14.2m in the year to 29 August 2009: However, the Bathgate, West Lothian haulier slipped into a loss after tax of £167.567. Operations director Mark Jackson says: "Considering the year that UK Plc had, we are pleased with our performance and are working hard to keep that going this year."
Debt was reduced to £3.1m from £4.6m the year before; driver numbers also increased during the period. The firm has just pot 40 new SDC curtainsiders on the road, which feature a new, modernised, version of its livery (pictured below). Jackson adds ''We just felt it was time to move the company's image forward."
