affect existing goods vehicles, can a multi-pull brake be used as an emergency brake by a number of driver applications as long as the required efficiencies are ultimately achieved?
AOn vehicles registered on or after Janu
ary 1 1968, if a multi-pull handbrake is used to actuate the secondary system, the required efficiencies will have to be achieved at the first pull.
But on "existing vehicles", namely those registered before January 1 1968, there is not the same stipulation. Therefore one can presume that where a multi-pull handbrake is used on such vehicles to apply the required secondary brakes, the efficiency does not have to be obtained on the first pull.
