• Iveco Ford Trucks has launched a number of Special Product Options (SPOs) on its Cargo 65E, 75E, 80E and 100E tipper chassis.
Most important is an off-road tipper pack which includes protective shields for real(park) brake chambers. The air/ hydraulic brake master cylinder is re-located to the nearside of the frame to minimise possible damage.
A shallower steel front bumper which improves its approach angle is optional.
Truck rental operators worried about abuse or damage from inexperienced drivers can have the diff-lock deleted.
To allow light plant trailers to be towed a new towing crossmember at the back replaces the standard underrun bumper. And a 12-volt power supply is added.
On Cargo tippers up to 10 tonnes the tail-mounted spare wheel carrier can either be a side-fitting or removed.
Traction type tyres, typically Michelin XZYs, become an SPO along with seat coverings of wipe-clean vinyl instead of cloth to cope with off-road working.
The modifications to Cargo and SuperCargo chassis take place at Iveco Ford's Langleybased SPO department which was recently re-formed under sales engineering manager Ken Brewis.
