POLICE ARE HUNTING a man who hijacked a van at knifepoint in Northamptonshire and made off with its load of mobile phones.
The attack happened at 4.15pm on Friday 25 February as the driver was approaching his drop-off point on the Riverside industrial estate in Northampton. A man forced his way into the van and threatened to stab the driver before forcing him out the passenger door.
The stolen van was recovered, minus its load, 20 minutes later on the Bedford Road, near the Barns Meadow roundabout.
The thief is white, aged between 30 and 40 years old with a medium build. He has light brown or sandy coloured hair and was possibly wearing a parka style jacket.
The white Mercedes van, registration BN54 TNV, has a yellow logo on the side.
