by Juliet Morrison • A British owner-driver is threatening to go on hunger strike unless he is granted bail from the Spanish prison where he has been held on drug smuggling charges awaiting trial for nine months.
Roy Clarke of Ewell, Surrey was arrested after 2.5 tonnes of cannabis was found hidden in a load of metal pipes he had just collected. He believes a hunger strike may be the only way to draw attention to his plight.
