A SERIES of modifications have been made to the Dodge 3820P tractive unit. Existing vehicles are being converted to the new specifications which is currently in production.
Changes centre on a new cylinder-head design which offers better cooling of the head. Water spaces around the injectors have been enlarged and a new head gasket introduced. Engine speed during running in is being governed to 1,80Grpm. A new engine oil cooler is fitted and there is now a range-change inhibitor.
The announcement of the modifications coincide with a major promotion campaign being launched by Chrysler for the Spanish-built heavy.
