• The port of Felixstowe has just handled its millionth freight unit for the year—the earliest it has ever reached that annual milestone.
In the first six months of this year the number of containers handled rose by 4.6%—RO-R0 cargo was up 9.4%.
El Hauliers using the port of Tilbury could benefit from investment in the area. The local council has applied for a grant from the Government's Single Regeneration Budget; if successful this could create more than 500 jobs, many of them in the port and haulage industry.
