• William Moss and Sons Ltd, bodybuilder of Loughborough, Leics, has failed in its appeal to the Department of the Environment against the refusal of the borough council to grant planning permission for the erection of a new coach
works and repair shop in Great Central Road.
The premises have been used as a builder's yard for some time but the Department's inspector reported that nuisance in the form of noise, fumes and smell would result from their use as a coachworks, and would be a continuous annoyance to residents in the area. With the erection of large buildings on the site, residents would also suffer a severe loss of visual amenity.
