"It is the truck operator's aim to operate in the most profitable manner within the limitations imposed by legislation. It is the vehicle designer's task to provide a truck which exploits the legal potential to the maximum." So opens one of the papers to be presented next week at CM's Fleet Management Conference. The development of that theme has produced an exceptionally interesting engineering paper which, together with a paper on the budgetary control of fleet operation, will be featured in next week's CM—the day after the conference itself. Also in the September 17 issue will be a full, illustrated report of the National Finals of the Lorry Driver of the Year Competition, which CM sponsors.
