• Northern Irish chassis and component manufacturer MDF of Antrim has bought SDC Trailers from Powerscreen International for 211m this week.
The deal represents a particularly good bit of business for Powerscreenit paid just .27m for SDC at the beginning of the year.
Darren Donnelly, managing director of MDF, takes a similar post at SDC. Together, the two businesses employ 400 people, 95% of them in manufacturing. No jobs have been lost.
