Contract renewal helps Lane back into the black

• Lane Group has moved back into the black, helped by the renewal of a major contract with Next worth £21m.
The group, which has 380 employees and a fleet of 300 vehicles and trailers, struggled for much of last year, closing its shared-user operations which had accounted for almost 20% of its business.
However, managing director Rebecca Jenkins says Lane is likely to make a pre-interest profit of .Elm when final results
are posted later this year. She predicts a 20% growth in turnover over the next 12 months as the group concentrates on contract.based cus. tomers such as Next, Raflatac and Great Mills Retail.
Lane has a head office in Portbury with distribution centres in Yorkshire, London, Birmingham and Bristol.
