The high-cube van segment is a crowded and highly competitive one. Contenders need to have all the bases covered to avoid fading into the background.
With the latest version of the Connect, Ford has managed to inject some much-needed colour and class into its popular van, and the exterior changes, while hardly comprehensive, still catch the eye.
However, it's the interior where the Connect really excels thanks to its ample storage space, class-leading build quality and good ergonomics. Drivers will enjoy the dynamically sound ride, too, and residual values after three years look to be strong.
Fulsome praise indeed, but it's not without its faults, and the Connect's Achilles heel is the engine, which feels rudimentary compared with the rest of the vehicle. Granted, commercial vehicles aren't bred for outright refinement, so it's acceptable to turn a blind eye.
If you're in the market for a solid, reliable and aesthetically-pleasing van, there's much to recommend Ford's latest version of its Connect.
