• Despite failing to declare a number of convictions David Bruce (Northern), trading as Dewsbury Haulage, has been granted a new licence by North Western Licensing Authority Roy Hutchings.
The company, of Trafford Park, Manchester, had applied for a licence for nine vehicles and 16 trailers in possession with five vehicles and two trailers to be acquired: a similar licence held by Dewsbury Haulage would then have been surrended. For the company, John Backhouse said it was merely seeking to take over the operations of Dewsbury Haulage. It had moved premises from Bury to Trafford Park and in doing so certain documents had been lost. With it being a straight transfer from one company to another, managing director David Dewsbury had not appreciated the importance of declaring convictions. The failure to disclose had not been deliberate.
