• The Freight Transport Association's turnover has risen by more than Lim during the last trading year according to Its annual report.
While membership rose slightly demand for its services increased sharply, boosting turnover from £15,345,688 in the year ending December 2000 to £16,498,548 in the year ending December 2001.
Chief executive Richard Turner says: "It's been a very exciting year and we think next year will be even better. Members are asking for our services at an unprecedented rate and our biggest challenge will be making sure we can deliver everything we have promised... I am excited about building on the foundations we have laid this year."
Turner reports that operators struggling under the weight of legislation, are increasingly turning to organisations like the FTA for help and advice.
