• There would be an estimated £30m annual drop in revenue if there were a cancellation of the increase in hydro-carbon oil duty imposed on the road haulage industry since October, 1964, said Mr Terence Higgins, Minister of State at the Treasury, in the Commons.
No corresponding estimate could be given for Vehicle Excise Duty on the basis of available statistics, he added.
