• Leaders of the Transport and General Workers Union will recommend acceptance by London Transport's 23,000 busmen of a new pay deal at a delegate conference next Wednesday. The deal was reached after 10 hours of talks between the union and LTE on Monday.
Mr Larry Smith. national secretary of the passenger services group of the TGWU, said he thought there was a very good chance of agreement on the proposals.
