• A tax paid trading profit of £165,591 revealed in the Dennis Motor Holdings Ltd statement of accounts for the year ended September 30 1971 compares with £39,863 for the previous year.
In a statement, the chairman, Mr John L. King, points out that the company in 1971 had not escaped the many problems confronting the commercial vehicle industry and for the first quarter four-day working had been brought in. "However, with an improving order book and encouraging prospects for spring and summer months, particularly in the specialist vehicle fields of municipal refuse vehicle and fire appliances, I am glad to report that we have largely reverted to full-time working," he says.
He adds that Dennis is developing new appliances to meet today's more exacting needs for fire-fighting, rescue and ambulance equipment.
The agm will be held at Winchester House. 100 Old Broad Street, London EC2, at midday February 21.
