Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The first three-axle tractive units to enter service with the NAAFI were delivered last week by ERF. The four El0 6x2s mark the start of a move by the NAAFI towards 38tonne operation.

The units will be used in conjunction with Wilson triaxle, double-deck trailers, some of the first built by the Belfast manufacturer with this configuration.

Using double-deck trailers at 38 tonnes gross weight has raised the number of roll pallets carried per trip to 72, from 48 with a single-deck trailer at 32.5 tonnes.

The Wilson double-deck trailers are equipped with tail lifts, which can be powered by depot electrical sources. The lower deck is loaded straight from the normal NAAFI depot loading bay, while pallets for the top deck are loaded by using the tail-lift.

The six-axle combinations will be based at the NAAFI's Darlington distribution warehouse. The E 10s are each expected to cover 700,0001cm during eight years' service with the NAAFI.
