Trucks Midlands, has used the order history of its £350,000 parts holding to identify the top 200 fastest-moving items to stock at Renault Trucks Coventry.
He has produced a E50,000 parts stocklist to distribute, with support from Tipton, and the nearby Renault Trucks parts warehouse in Rugby.
"Parts are going to be quite important. At Tipton, it's a considerable-sized aftersales department supporting the service team. 'There is a vast potential to sell to external customers in the future."
Currently. the Coventry site has one parts van, although a second van is expected, and it is working in a reactive role. Clark says: "It goes out based on requirements. The customer is king, so if they need a part, we will get it there. "It isn't costeffective, but it does help build long-term relationships with businesses in the area, and hopefully people will remember what we did through the hard times. I believe the people here are the right ones; if they grasp it now, everything is here for it to be successful," he adds.
