3 arlisle haulier Eddie Stobart gave some of his massive fleet away at Christmas to cheer sick children at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Fortunately the trucks, which were models, did not clutter the wards too much and were apparently appreciated as much as the Eddie Stobart teddy bears which accompanied them. The toys were handed out to children unable to go home for Christmas. In passing, I am told the Stobart fan club now numbers some 15,000, rivalling many well-known pop groups.
I look forward to the Eddie Stobart CD—suggestions for track titles gratefully received (but not that one that goes, "I've got two wheels an my wagon"—Ed).
