Meet, which takes place later this month (20-28 January) in Chateau D'Oex, Switzerland. The Hawk will naturally be on hand to welcome the competitors who will be piloting craft in various unconventional guises, including entries in the shape of flying dogs, cows and polar bears. More prosaically British firm Unipart appear as an oil can; Jaguar's balloon is, well, balloon shaped. All will compete for the David Niven Award, named after the actor who lived for many years in Chateau D'Oex. Once again I will conduct the apres flight judging from the safety alike lounge bar of the "Yodel and Gateau", a hostelry atop the piste. As foreign assignments go, it promises to be apiece of Swiss roll.
