THERE HAS been high drama in municipal refuse collection, which I hope my friend
Raymond Hunt, of Nupe, will forgive me for mentioning. Waste disposal executives (known to common people as dustmen) at Brighton took free. speech to its ultimate conclusion and plastered their vehicle with Labour election posters. This displeased the Alliance candidate and they were removed.
I have been unable to trace the electioneer who remarked spitefully: "A dustcart was the best place for them."
THAT VERBAL monstrosity, "privatisation", is not new. A corporal used it nearly 70 years ago to describe his demotion to private. His mistake was not to generalise.
