• Badgerline, the first NBC operating subsidiary to be privatised, has spent over million on a new depot at Weston-super-Mare and 36 new Volvo BIOM-based buses and coaches with Van Hool and Alexanders bodywork.
The West Country-based independent has also become the first PSV operator in the country to take out a contract maintenance package with Volvo. Its new vehicles are covered under a five-year maintenance plan based on a computerised operation forecast and tailored to the requirements of Badgerline's operating pattern. Maintenance will be carried out by Badgerline's order for 36 Volvo BlOM-based buses and coaches includes 14 of these 183kW Alexander-bodied single deckers.

Badgerline's Volvo BlOM order includes 14 singledeckers with Alexander bodies; 12 Citybus double-deckers with Alexander bodywork; two 12metre coaches with 57-seat Van Hool Alio& bodies; four 53-seater Alizee-bodied coaches and four 48-seater coaches with Alizee bodies.
