• Citroen has expanded its range with the addition of new Relay variants. A fourdoor, seven-seater crewcab is available in chassiscab form at 217,280 for the diesel and 218,380 for the turbo-diesel. New medium-wheelbase highroof Relay 1800 panel vans are priced at 216,995 and 218,095 respectively (all prices ex-VAT).
• Clearload Systems is completing the design for a 500mm-lift variant of its lifting trailer roof. The SDC trailer's lifting roof, featured in the IRTE show report (CM 21-27 May), was designed by Clearload Systems and the company also had one fitted to a mega-trailer on the Montracon stand.
• Ross & Bonnyman's joint venture with Windsor European Door Systems has resulted in a new range of roller-shutter doors for the UK. The wide-lath aluminium shutter is offered for dry freight and insulated bodywork, both with a pneumatic closure option. R&B will produce the new shutters at its Forfar, Angus factory.
• Scania has signed an agreement to acquire 80% of Italscandia Autocarri SpA, Italy's Scania distributor. Scania has a 15% market share in Italy, where about 14,000 trucks were registered in 1997.
