two medium-haul tyres. The manufacturer has revised its Amaranto range with the FH88 for steer and TH88 for drive axles and the big news is that the rubber now contains two different compound layers. Essentially the harder external layer is more resistant to abrasion and the inner, soft bit reduces heat generation, which ultimately leads to premature tyre wear. However, the only tyre size available is 315/60 R22.5.
On the regional front the latest R:01 series of steer-, driveand trailer-axle tyres enters the market as a replacement for the R25 version. Pirelli maintains that the new rubber has been designed with "low cost, reliability, safety and comfort" in mind.
