THREE National Travel companies: Midlands, North-West, and North-East, have been merged to form National Travel (East) and National Travel (West).
At present the two Southern companies NT (South East) and NT (South West) remain unchanged, but there are persistent rumours that these too may be merged at a later date to form a new company, National Travel (South).
The present reorganisation will split the former operating territory of National Travel (Midlands) between its two northern neighbours.
Frank Woodworth, general manager, moves from the Midlands to NT (West) at its new base in Manchester. John Fisher will be general manager of the new NT (East) based in • Liversedge.
Central marketing
British Holiday tours will come under a new central organisation to market and operate them. National Holidays will be managed by former Nortli-East commercial manager John King, based in Sheffield.
National Travel director and controller Edward Dravers said the new arrangements would not be completed until the 1978 season.
