• DAF Trucks (GB) Ltd has launched a major sales drive in the UK with a mobile truck exhibition which will be making a total of 21 stopovers during May and June.

At the same time the FT2000 DHB tractive unit will be shown in this country for the first time. This unit is plated for 32 ions gvw and uses the tilt cab of the FT2200 and has DAF's 8.25-litre turbocharged engine which has been certificated at 201 bhp to BS AU141a, 1971. Unladen weight of the tractive unit is claimed to be 4.85 tons with power steering and exhaust brake standard features.

Altogether six demonstration vehicles are taking part in the exhibition, which started from Penfold Commercials in Greenwich last week. These vehicles include the FT2000 DHB tractive unit, two FT2600 DK A 38-ton tractive units, one FT 2200 DU 36-ton tractive unit, one FAT2000 DH 6x4 tipper chassis and one FA2000 DU two-axled rigid chassis plated for 32 tons gtw.

The exhibition will be at the premises of Renwick (Charfield) Commercial Sales Ltd, Exeter, today (Friday) and at the Charfield, Glos. premises of Renwick on Monday.
