Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

STRATHCLYDE PTE's demountable Dodge Commando bus-cum-lorry has failed to meet its efficiency targets after its first eight months of service on the Isle of Arran.

The Dodge, which has a Marshall front module and demountable Marshall bus body on Ray Smith landing gear, and an Aitken-bodied Ray Smith demountable van body, was developed and built at a reputed cost of G5,000.

SPTE provided it to Arran Transport as a replacement for a minibus and a parcel van, with a view to a total life-cost saving being made as it would carry school children and summer tourists, and make parcel deliveries in between.

But Arran Transport has been unable to achieve this Flexibility with the bus, and the van body has still to be used.

To see whether some pressure can be taken off the vehicle, so that it may yet (11[61 its parcel delivery role, an additional minibus has now been bought by the company, but there are strong doubts about whether its front entrance layout is suitable for van application.
