Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

OBJECTIONS from local residents have meant that Lancashire haulier Willowbridge Transport Company must wait to see if it will be allowed to expand its operational fleet.

The company, of Lowercroft Road, Bury, had applied to North Western Licensing Authority Roy Hutchings to add five vehicles to its existing licence for 10 vehicles and nine trailers, while at the same time deleting five trailers.

There were representations from four local residents.

Managing director Anthony Noonan said the depot lay in the bottom of a hollow. The company only operated one 32.5-tonne vehicle and the additional vehicles would be 16 arid 24-ton rigids.

The company had had to increase the volume of its work because of the level of its overheads. It had insufficient vehicles of its own to cover its present work and if the application was granted the volume of sub-contracted work would reduce.
