Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• ATL subsidiary Airebus, which operated services in Leeds, closed down last week. The surprise move came two weeks after Airebus surrendered half of its services in a major reorganisation.

In a sudden change of strategy, all 34 staff have been made redundant and the 'remaining half of its services have been assigned to Yorkshire Rider and West Riding.

Although Airebus had operated in Leeds for 18 months, it had only held a separate oper

ator's licence since November 1988.

A 13-vehicle authorisation was granted following a Traffic Commissioner's hearing during which the initial application for over 50 vehicles was drastically reduced.

The closure of Airebus will lead to speculation over the future of the remainder of the ATL Group — which has already disposed of its travel shops and Yelloway and Crosvine. More subsidiaries are expected to be sold soon.
