no Commercial Motor Show in 1950. but, since then. the matter has been debated over and over again, and it seems highly probable that the management committee of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, at its meeting on November 17, Will vote in favour of a date in 1950.
There have been reports of Government pressure on the Society in view of the importance of the •export market. but these may be discounted. Some members have taken the view that the Show should be held at intervals of four years, others think that it should be in 1951, to link up with the Festival.
"The Commercial Motor" believes. however, that the paramount need for keeping the products of the industry well before potential buyers from abroad will turn the scale in favour of an Exhibition next year.
