• Hauliers using the Severn Bridge will have to pay 80p more for every return crossing they make next year.
From January the westbound charge will increase to L10.10— up 153% since 1991.
The Freight Transport Association plans to use the increase to fight for a bigger discount for regular users when it meets the bridge's operator at the end of the month. It says the increase will "add injustice to adversity" for regular users.
They lost a 10% discount on pre-paid books of 20 tickets for £167.40 last month and are now asked to pay a monthly fee of £184.14 for every truck using the bridge (CM 14-20 October).
