Speaking at an inspection of the Newport Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade (Priory of Wales), Sir J. Herbert Lewis, K.B.E., Commissioner for Wales, made observations of interest ta motor-coach proprietors.Re said that ambulance men were frequently called upon to attend persons injured in motor-vehicle accidents. He thought that it should be compulsory for every motor-coach owner to provide first-aid equipment on his vehicles, and that only drivers should be .emplused who belonged to an ambulance unit and were, therefore, skilled to administer first-aid in the event of accidents. He had made representations on these matters to the Ministry of Transport, but the result of his appeals bad not yet been made known.
We referred to this matter in a leading article in our issue dated August 16th last, wherein certain suggestions' were put forward.
