PASSENGERS who arrive late for work because buses run late or infrequently, may have their personnel officers verify their excuses by phoning, according to Mr Leonard Ingham, chief transport officer, Merthyr Corporation, South Wales.
His statement follows a complaint from a 20-year-old Post Office telephone operator, Miss Avril Thomas, who claimed late buses often made her late for work.
