THE Regent Oil Co. Ltd. has announced the
completion at Prestwick International Airport, Scotland, of its new aviation fuel depot, which will be equipped with the first hydrant refuelling system there. This system enables aircraft to be refuelled under high pressure by mobile dispensers, which are comparatively small vehicles.
The hydrant system means that the large tankers and trailers, previously necessary alongside the aircraft, can be dispensed with.
Operations at the depot start on August 13.
