Pontins' supply chain will have to support much greater volumes than previously once plans to expand and modernise its parks come to fruition.
Last year it announced a threeto five-year, multi-million pound programme of improvements that will eventually include major refurbishment of Brean Sands and Prestatyn and the rebuilding of Camber Sands and Southport the investment in Southport will be £100m alone. There are also plans to double the size of Lowestoft to 100 acres to include a golf course.

ming pools. restaurants and entertainment facilities and a 'holiday village', which will feature denser accommodation closer to the amenities and increase guest capacities for example, Camber Sands will rise from the current 3,500 beds to 6,000 and Lowestoft will double to 3,000.
Sales and marketing director Jason Brindle says the company will consider expanding storage facilities at the parks but, if possible, wants to avoid moving into space that could otherwise be used for accommodation or entertainment.
"We will look at which suppliers can do more frequent deliveries, on a just-intime basis. However, we don't want to take that to the point where we risk jeopardising our core objective of providing good service," he explains.
