BIBBY DISTRIBUTION has teamed up with CTC (the UK cyclists' organisation) and personal injury specialist Russell Jones & Walker to raise awareness between cyclists and truck drivers.
The 2 Way Street campaign, launched last week with a photocall involving a Bibby 18-tonner and celebrity Gail Porter (pictured), calls for HGV drivers to have cycle-awareness training; for cyclists to be encouraged to take cycle training to cope with busy urban roads;
and for more investment in the design of cycle-friendly roads.
Bibby chief executive lain Speak says: 'We believe this campaign, with its three-pronged approach, will make a big difference by making HGV drivers more aware of cyclists, encouraging cyclists to undergo proper training for riding on busy, urban roads, and championing the call for making Britain's roads more bike-friendly. This has to be a great formula for improving road safety.''
