PERKINS ENGINES has extended the product education given to operators at its Peterborough headquarters with the construction of four new training workshops.
One workshop covers three and four cylinder engines, another the six and eight cylinder engines, while the remaining two deal with marine engines and fuel injection equipment respectively.
The product education department at Perkins is staffed by a manager and five full time instructors who together have 160 years experience in the diesel engine industry.
The department trains 1,700 people each year as part of Perkins after sales policy with 70,000 people having received training since 1953.
Perkins runs 34 different courses covering the complete range of the companys engines and ancilliary equipment and will run tailor-made courses for large groups of students.
A new booklet called Diesel Training lists all the courses and is available from the Product Education Manager, Perkins Engines, Peterborough.
