WEST MIDLANDS haulier Joe Brandrick Trucks Ltd, has bought 125 vehicles from Hertz Truck Rental, which is pulling out of the British van rental and contract hire market again. These vehicles composed the whole of Hertz's truck rental fleet.
Hertz sold 50 vehicles from its leasing fleet to Wincanton Vehicle Rentals last week (CM December 5).
The vehicles sold by Hertz to Joe Brandrick consist of oneyear-old tractive units (Fiats, Volvos, Seddon Atkinsons, DAFs and Fords), vans and trucks plus the entire workshop equipment; asset value is said to be in the region of fl m.
"We are hopeful of maintaining several truck rental points under franchising arrangements with Hertz and subsequently expand our fleet," Joe Brandrick told CM.
