The HA plans a number of improvements, including carriageway markings advising truck drivers to reduce their speed and revising the hatching at a traffic island to separate traffic going to the town centre and the docks.
A spokeswoman says: "Discussions are currently taking place to finalise the scheme; works are on course to be completed by April."
