Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the Admiralty, 1.1a new Skyhi hydraulic lift, specially designed to deal with loads up to 10 tons, recently underwent tests at the works of the maker, Henry Miller and Co., Standard Road, Park Royal, London, N.W.10. An acompanying illustration shows the lift in action, the test vehicle having a gross weight of 10 tons 17 cwt.

The driving motor and the pump form a compact unit, and the motor is rated at 4 h.p. A worm drive is provided for the awash-plate pump and the normal working pressure is something over 3,000 lb. per sq. in. ; the maximum pressure is 6,000 lb. per sq. in.

Massively built, the runways are 24 ft. long, and they are thus able to accommodate large-sized vehicles. We c24 were impressed with the ease with which the lift handled the test load, and the fully laden

reirprcuuvehicle was lifted to a height of 4 ft. in under two minutes.

The lift is to be installed at Singapore where, by reason of its efficient working, which we ourselves have witnessed, it should give a good account of itself.
