Maryport driver wins appeal.
MARYPORT, CUMBRIA-based owner-driver Paul Simpson has successfully appealed a 140-day jail sentence and dangerous
driving conviction following an incident involving Highways Agency officers and a rolling roadblock last year on the M6 Wail for driver who ignored HA road block', CM 22 January 2009).
At Preston Crown Court, Judge Andrew Woolman removed Simpson's custodial sen
tence and 18-month licence disqualification; tie original charge of dangerous driving was also reduced to careless driving. Simpson was given three points on his licence.
