paid more for hauling 40 tonnes than they were for 38 tonnes, warns Bernard Momin, managing director of Renault VI UK. He says that only "incurable optimists " can expect more cash at the end of the Urs weight derogation. He also advises against moving to 44 tonnes: "A UK operator running on the Continent would be made uncompetitive," he warns. "On the Continent the trucks could only operate at 40 tonnes."
