• Steve Bryant has been taken to another jail in Morocco in a move which is being interpreted by his family as a preparation for the Essex owner-driver's release.
Bryant has been moved to Rabat jail from Tangier, where he has spent the past three years after being convicted of carrying cannabis in a load of squid picked up from a Moroccan factory.
His father, Peter, believes his son could be close to receiving a King's Pardon. "Steve has always said noone ever gets a pardon from Tangier, only Rabat," he says. Bryant maintains he was set up by a drugs gang and reports that a Portuguese lorry driver who was tricked by the same gang recently came into Tangier jail for carrying drugs.
