• A single device offering both vehicle security and global tracking will available later this month.
Aeromark has developed a book-sized device which fits onto the rear door of a vehicle or container in less than 30 seconds. The device, called Triplock, is self-activating and provides constant cargo protection and monitoring throughout the journey. Sensors inside the device will detect interference and communicate with a monitoring station and vehicle owner.
High-performance rechargeable batteries mean the device can operate remotely and independently for 30 days while tracking through GPS and GSM networks. It can also be transferred between vehicles.
Triplock has been trialled by hauliers and inhouse transport operations in the tobacco industry for two years. The basic system costs 11,500, but other models with bespoke sensors for specific purposes will be introduced according to demand, says Aeromark business development manager Chris Jones.
