Wincanton turnover breaks through the £2bn barrier
WINCANTON'S ANNUAL turnover has risen 12% to break through the £2bn barrier, with pre-tax profits up to £36.7m from £32.6m.
Companies House figures show that the firm's turnover in the year ending 31 March was £2. 16bn compared with £1.93bn last year.
Wincanton bought several other hauliers in the last financial year, including Swales, Hanbury Davies and HeBo. Its acquisitions look set to continue following its bid for TOG at 281.25p per share ('Wincanton joins the race to buy TDG', CM 15 May),
which is currently subject to due diligence checks.
Shareholders in the company will receive a total annual dividend of 14.91p per share, up 10% from the previous year.
