The BD.125 Motorscope Major is the name of a petrol-engined analyser, produced by CryptonTriangle that features an 84,-in. aluminized tube, which has a controlled amplitude time base and presents a primary and a secondary superimposed pattern together with full raster traces. Trace expansion is by push button, while two 10in. meters have illuminated arrows that indicate the selected scale.
It is scaled for a four-, sixor eight-cylinder dwell and 0-20-0-2 volts while the tachometer is scaled for ranges of 0-1500 rpm and 0-750 rpm, changes from scale to scale being made automatically. The ohmmeter ranges are from 0-1000 ohms, 0-10.000 ohms and 0-100,000 ohms. The advance meter is integral with the timing light.
Controls comprise a central eight-step programme selector, a rotary 2-4-6-8-cylinder selector, a rotary 1-8 cylinder power check selector with integral push buttons and a rotary ohms scale selector switch. Push-button control is used for volt selection, engine stop selection and two-stroke selection as well as expansion of the trace.
The unit operates on 200/250V on a 50/60 Hz power supply and protection is provided by a resettable trip, no fuses being used. A boom is provided, and the test leads plug into an end socket.
